Opening Hymn – Before the Lord’s eternal throne #391

1 Before the Lord’s eternal throne, ye nations, bow with sacred joy;
know that the Lord is God alone; he can create, and he destroy.

2 His sovereign Power without our aid formed us of clay and gave us breath;
and when like wandering sheep we strayed, he saved us from the power of death.

3 We are his people, we his care, our souls, and all our mortal frame:
what lasting honors shall we rear, almighty Maker, to thy Name?

4 We’ll crowd thy gates with thankful songs, high as the heavens our voices raise;
and earth, with her ten thousand tongues, shall fill thy courts with sounding praise.

5 Wide as the world is thy command, vast as eternity thy love;
firm as a rock thy truth must stand, when rolling years shall cease to move.

Collect: Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The Liturgy of the Word
The First Lesson: Exodus 19:2-8a
The Gradual: Psalm 100
The Epistle: Romans 5:1-8
The Gospel: Matthew 9:35-10:8, (9-23)

In union, dear Lord, with your faithful people at every altar of your Church where your blessed Body and Blood are offered to the Father, I desire to offer to you praise and thanksgiving. I remember your death, Lord Christ; I proclaim your resurrection; I await your coming in glory. Since I cannot receive you in the Sacrament of your Body and Blood, I entreat you to come spiritually into my heart. I unite myself to you and embrace you with all the affections of my soul. Strengthen me with your grace, Lord Jesus, and let me never be separated from you. May I live in you, and you in me, in this life and in the life to come. Amen.

Offering Hymn – Let the broken ones be healed

Let the broken ones be healed,
Let the lost be found and fed.
Let the grace of God roll on, roll on.
Let the river rise and spread.
Step into the stream with me.
Let God’s gracious purpose be.
Let God’s gracious purpose be.

Closing Hymn – Ye servants of God #535

1 Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim,
and publish abroad his wonderful Name;
the Name all-victorious of Jesus extol:
his kingdom is glorious; he rules over all.

2 God ruleth on high, almighty to save;
and still he is nigh: his presence we have.
The great congregation his triumph shall sing,
ascribing salvation to Jesus our King.

3 Salvation to God who sits on the throne!
Let all cry aloud, and honor the Son.
The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim,
fall down on their faces, and worship the Lamb.

4 Then let us adore, and give him his right:
All glory and power, all wisdom and might,
and honor and blessing, with angels above,
and thanks never-ceasing and infinite love.

Love God. Love Your Neighbor.

Change the World.
